Lil' Snake

Mailed some packages today and ran across these guys at Family Dollar. They had a whole line of single-packed G.I.Joe Combat Heroes for 3 bucks each. I missed the only figure I wanted when the line was in regular stores because I'm not the biggest fan of Snake with a grey deco. They're repaints of the first series, and they are re-themed around the new movie that just came out. They have Scarlett, Snake Eyes, Hawk, Duke, the Baroness, Storm Shadow and Destro, along with a Neo Viper (who is not a re-issue from the first series). I didn't see any others there besides those, so there may be more.

I only wanted Snake Eyes and picked him up because his deco is predominantly black( his ammo belt across his chest, his sword, and his Uzi are dark blue, but I'm gonna paint mine black). He's a sweet little 1.5 inch-tall figure that looks a lot like the Hasbro Marvel Superhero Squad figures. Most of those figures are extremely limited in articulation, but Snake here has 4 points in pretty useful places (waist, shoulders, and right wrist). Not too shabby for 3 bucks, and I really don't care to buy these guys in two-packs because they never have them packed in sets that make any sense!

Pretty cool lil' dudes! If you want any of them, keep your eyes peeled for Family Dollar stores!

GI JOE: The Rise of Cobra-La?

Couldn't resist making this guy. As much as people seem to hate the whole Cobra-La stuff from the old GI JOE animated movie, I always got a kick out of it as a kid. It was so out of whack with what I had come to expect out of GI JOE that it just knocked me for a loop. So I made Golobulus, the leader of the kingdom of Cobra-La:

I don't usually give my figures a glossy clear coat, but I wanted him to be extra slimey... ugggghhhh... it's kinda creepy seeing him in person.

Freddy's back...

Just saw these pics online... thought I'd share:

That's the first official pic from the remake/sequel/whatever Nightmare on Elm Street movie coming out next year.

Freddy's being played by Jackie Earle Haley, a guy who looks suitably creepy for the part:

He's the guy who played Rorschach in The Watchmen. Yeah... that movie sucked and Rorschach sucked even more, but Haley's a pretty darn good actor who can carry creepy quite well.

Here's the poster for the movie:

Looks slick. It's nice to see the look is pretty much dead-on so far. Remakes usually make me gag, but the Friday the 13th remake was enjoyable enough, and hopefully this one will be as well.

Time will tell!

Omnom part 2 and a new friend

So here are some update pics... it's kinda hard to tell, but he's much, much more smooth, and the recess in the mouth is much deeper. He also has a little buttcrack. I sculpted a little tush on him, but it really looked ridiculous sticking out like... well... a swollen little butt. So I kinda compromised and gave him a crack... the guys on the October Toys Forum were right: he needed it!

Excuse the fuzzy pic of his butt... my camera was giving me a fit at the time:

Here's another guy I'm working on. I haven't settled on a name, but I have a few floating around:

And here are the doods with some other guys you all know and love for some size comparisons:

ZOMBEAR!!!

I found this little blank vinyl bear on eBay a while back (he's a Popobe... I have no idea what that means-- he stands 6 inches tall), and he's been sitting on my shelf for a while gathering dust. So today I decided to give him some personality.

For me, personality usually translates to "zombie."

So yeah... here he is:

He's on my Etsy shop now if anyone takes crazy and decides to buy him. HE HAS GUTS!!!
